‘Hey Michael’ is the most recent track from Wallice. It comes alongside the announcement of her debut EP, Off The Rails, due for release this summer. The piece opens with sincerity and emotion, before drifting into the self-aware yet poignant storytelling that Wallice established with her previous single, ‘23’. She describes the track as “a revenge anthem for anyone who has encountered a gaslighting, manipulative person,” but goes on to detail the comedic double standard that sits below the track’s main message: “The whole song is funny because I am so focused on how shitty Michael is that I don’t even think about how shitty I might be as well.” The accompanying music video, directed by Phil Stillwell, puts Wallice into a mesmerising house party, American Psycho style. -Dan Peeke
